Gerd von Tresckow was born on March 21, 1899, and died on September 24, 1944. He was the son of Hermann von Tresckow and Marie-Agnes von Zedlitz-Trützschler.
Gerd von Tresckow served in the German Army, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His last posting was on a divisional staff in Italy.
Admitting that he was involved in the plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler, he was arrested in Bologna in July, 1944, and taken to the Lehrter Strasse Prison in Belin, German, where he as tortured and attempted suicide before dying of heart failure as a result of his injuries.
